President's Message

Welcome to the Kansas City Music Teachers Association website. Our organization provides many wonderful educational programs and performance opportunities for our students and teachers. Our goal is continuing our education and enhancing our teaching skills through our monthly educational workshops, student performance events, and networking.

KCMTA offers a wide array of performance opportunities for every student. If you are looking for programs which feature critiqued performances, try Fall Festival. For a solo orchestral experience, we have Concerto Competition. Multi-Piano offers students of all ages and abilities large ensemble concerts complete with conductor. Holiday Program finds our students sharing their talents with others at the Westin Crown Center. Students leaning toward a professional path can learn from a Master Teacher in our Master Lessons program. For a guided, complete course of study, try Music Progressions. Achievement Auditions will help students realize their goals with awards and the possibility of being chosen to perform on the Honor's Recital. Service to others is encouraged with our Service project.

Click on Student Programs to see a description of each program.

If you are a music teacher, please consider joining our wonderful organization - we would love to have you! If you are the parent of a student, please let your teacher know about these opportunities.

Enjoy perusing our website, and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at mgehring@everestkc.net.

Michelle Gehring, KCMTA President
