The Achievement Auditions are 15-minute private auditions with an adjudicator. All students receive a written evaluation, certificate, ribbon and rating. Several students from each day will be chosen by the judges to perform in the Honors Recital. Teachers of these chosen Honors Recital participants will be notified as soon as Achievement Auditions is fully completed.
Repertoire: Students are required to play technique and two (2) (levels Intermediate E through Advanced F) to three (3) (levels Elementary B through Intermediate D) memorized pieces from contrasting periods. Use the Achievement Auditions Syllabus as your guide for selecting technique, repertoire, and for other specifics. The hard copy of the syllabus can be reviewed at Luyben Music in Kansas City, at The Toon Shop in Overland Park, or downloaded below.
