Message from the President

Here we are, approaching the end of this strange school year. Our May meeting will be at 10:00 this Tuesday, IN PERSON! We’ll meet outdoors at the Caffeteria patio, next door to the Village Music Academy in the Prairie Village Shops. We’ll vote on and install the slate of officers and show appreciation to outgoing and new board members. After the business meeting, we’ll have a roundtable discussion on reopening our studios and other topics of interest. Then we’ll stay for lunch at Caffetteria. Dress for cool weather, but we’ll meet rain or shine because there is lots of covered patio space. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone!

A few changes were made to the slate since it was published in the last newsletter. Help is still needed in some areas! The highest priority is to find a corresponding secretary, who will be responsible for editing our newsletter.

I have received inquiries for teachers who have experience with autistic and special needs students. If you have expertise in this area and would appreciate referrals, please let me know.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to serve as your president for the past two years. It has been a great experience even though it wasn’t what anyone expected!

Achievement Auditions

Thank you, teachers for enrolling your students in Achievement Auditions. Enrollment is now closed. The event will take place May 15th at Kansas City Piano. We have 9 participating studios with 26 participants. If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you answer the following short poll re: the Honors Recital: https://forms.gle/vjRLsidenQs3uKTMA This important questionnaire will help determine whether or not the recital will take place. Also, please remember that your students' enrollments will not be complete until payment has been received. The auditions schedule will be sent out by May 2nd. Looking forward to seeing your students in a few weeks!

Thanks,
